Thanksgiving Part 2: I stand on chairs now!

Currently, Grace has a fever and Charlotte is sitting next to me telling me that when the boy kills the mother, it's bedtime. They are watching Rapunzel. Maybe Disney movies aren't the way to go. I can't possibly keep up with this blogging but so much has gone on. I just had parent teacher conferences. Here it is in a nutshell:

Charlotte loves preschool. Her teacher loves her too. No surprise there. Charlotte has been doing so well. Her teacher says she has an advanced vocabulary and can have exchanges that go back and forth 4-5 times. Other kids usually give one response and that's it. Again, no surprise there. Miss independent zips her own coat, hangs it up, gets her snack, and is rocking preschool. Her teacher is awesome! I swear there is never the same activity two days in a row and I get picture evidence of what Char is doing daily. She has lots of friends at school but picks who she wants to hang with depending on which activity the kids are doing that she wants to participate in. Paul and I are so impressed with the preschool classroom though and really feel like we made the right decision sending her there. She just had her fourth birthday and being 4 is doing her wonders. Any chance she can cuddle up to me and tell me that she loves me, my outfit (That is a-dor-able), etc. she does. She is becoming sweeter by the minute however she definitely still has her mean and crazy side. She is hilarious and cracks herself up constantly. Oh Charlotte!

Grace cut her hair in school about a week ago. Apparently there was a sub and Grace was making a book, decided she wanted her ponytail out because it was knotty and coming out and so she cut it. Everyone who has long hair... pick it up and pretend it is in a low ponytail. Then pretend you are holding it with one hand and chopping at the top of the ponytail with the other. Can you see how it ends up with lots of short hair?:) The good news is that I curled it for Thanksgiving though after we had Jenny fix it up and it looks adorable! Her teacher is one week from popping with a baby so let's hope Grace does well with the maternity sub. She is average to above average on lots of kindergarten skills, she is starting to read which is awesome, and of course is quiet and well behaved! I can't wait to try to get some pics for Christmas Cards although I wanted to today but with two sick, it just wasn't happening.

Julianne... she's my angel and saving grace. She is the sweetest funniest kid ever. She is still talking up a storm, is so fun and happy, and is truly easy breezy. her vocabulary is ridiculous and we spend lots of time repeating names, animals, sounds, etc. Everyone's favorite... go through all the names of the family members, then truck, car, duck, etc. Finally we say alligator and Julianne says something ridiculous and cracks herself and the rest of us up. Gets us everytime. She know all of her body parts including elbows (Elmo) and not only can point to them but when we say what is this pointing to our body parts (nose for example) she responds nose, eyes, ears, etc. That's where Elmo came in tonight for Elbow. Close enough. She sings when music is on whether she knows the songs or not, and seriously moans when she eats food. It is hilarious. She has managed to melt my heart. Please stay sweet...please stay sweet. Signs that she may change soon: She pinches Charlotte when she wants Charlotte to move so she can sit by me instead, she holds very tightly onto toys and screams when you take hers away. She tells on Charlotte, yes actually comes to me and says, Charlotte took my duck or some version of what Charlotte did. She loves Charlotte though and wants to play with her, watch shows with her and hold her hand while she is doing so. The last thing I've got is when Julianne acts surprised and makes the face... it is priceless. I've caught it on tape a few times. Love it.

Goals for the next few weeks: survive. Lots going on. Trying to get ready for Christmas, although tree is up and I have bought a fair amount of presents so far. Cards... although it just may not happen. I have about 6 more people to evaluate in about two weeks which means lots of work and of course there are Christmas Programs, Girl Scout Pajama Jams, ballet, a train to meet Santa, and a birthday party... all before the 25th. Oh and I am about 300 miles away from hitting 150,000 on my Dodge so let's hope we purchase a new car before the next snow. We are hosting Christmas Eve and Paul has to work that day, of course, so wish me luck with that. I am sure everyone else in my life has just as much going on so I am going to take it one day at a time and not get to crazed about everything going perfectly.

Julianne Turns 1! Well Back in April

Julianne's birthday was wonderful. We started the day off with pancakes to celebrate. We also went to the Shedd Aquarium. We then had a joint birthday party with Grace and Julianne and lots of people came to celebrate. She is one lucky lady and we are lucky to have her in our lives!

Julianne-November 2013-March 2014

Wow, has it really been 5 months since my last post? That's hilarious. I posted in February and posted about Charlotte's 3rd birthday, which was November. Ha. Well, let's see if I can sum up the last 8 months. Let's start with Julianne. I am completely and absolutely in love with this little pumpkin. She continues to make me smile. She is about 15 1/2 months old and she is talking up a storm. She says tons of words like, "mommy, daddy, Grandma, Papa, Charlotte, hi, bye, book, up, down, baba, puppy, ouch (one of my new favorites that she can verbalize when she is hurt), outside, all done, etc. She repeats a lot of what we tell her to and amazingly cannot really say Grace. Her 1st birthday came and went without her walking and I swear she was observing the other two girls the whole time she was sitting. She now can walk and runs as well. She is so smart already and she responds so well to so many different directions. She picks up her toys, she runs away when we chase her laughing, she plays by herself in the playroom. She keeps me on my toes. The other day she crawled all the way up the stairs and into Papa Dave's room and shut the door and started playing while I was pumping up the pool. That's what I get for listening to Grace when she said, "She's in the playroom." She went from loving bath time to hating bath time for about a month and hating the pool. Then one day we went to my neighbor's pool which is warmer than her baby pool and she loved it. Since then, she loves bath time, loves the pool and is perfectly happy all afternoon as long as I am holding her. I have been working on and off all summer and I am seriously dreading leaving this one when I go back next week.

She hates hats and bows and takes them off immediately. She loves carrying around my wristlet and keys and is really into her FisherPrice playhouse. She likes opening and closing the pretend mailbox. She loves dancing and singing whenever music is on. I couldn't tell you what percentile she is off the top of my head but when we stop going to the pediatrician, I will get a copy of the records for Julianne to have when she is older. :) In my defense, bringing them all to the doctor at once is just silly. I'll include a pic of our visit at the end. She goes to bed like a dream and has been sleeping well past 8 all summer long. Again, a dream. She hates getting dressed and tried to rip her clothes off. Not sure what that's about. She loves and eats all foods and when she is done she screams "All Done" and puts her food, if any is left, in the discard cup holder. I put her in her first time out last week for hitting Charlotte and she sat still and cried. When I rock Julianne for a nap in the afternoon all I have to say is, "Mommy or crib?" to which she pats my chest. I then say, "Ok well put your head down," and she falls asleep on me. TO DIE FOR!
